(Note: This was written for TMG v4.x but applies to TMG v5x with some additions)

The following variables may be used in TMG Tag and Witness Sentences.

Variable	Meaning
[OBJ]	Current Principal, Objective Pronoun.
[P]	Current Principal's name (an appropriate pronoun is used for all sentences after the first for a person).
[PAR]	Current Principal's Parents.
[PG]	Current Principal, Given name.
[PF]	Current Principal, First word of given name.
[PGS]	Current Principal, Possessive given.
[PFS]	Current Principal, Possessive first word of given name.
[PP]	Current Principal, Possessive Pronoun.
[PS]	Current Principal, Possessive name.

[PARO]	Other Principal's Parents.
[PO]	Other Principal's name.
[POF]	Other Principal, First word of given name.
[POFS]	Other Principal, Possessive first word of given name.
[POG]	Other Principal, Given name.
[POGS]	Other Principal, Possessive given.
[POS]	Other Principal, Possessive name.

[P1]	First Principal, Full name.
[P1F]	First Principal, First word of given name.
[P1FS]	First Principal, Possessive first word of given name.
[P1G]	First Principal, Given name.
[P1GS]	First Principal, Possessive given name.
[P1S]	First Principal, Possessive name.
[PAR1]	First Principal's Parents names.

[P2]	Second Principal, Full Name.
[P2G]	Second Principal, Given name.
[P2F]	Second Principal, First word of given name.
[P2GS]	Second Principal, Possessive given name.
[P2FS]	Second Principal, Possessive first word of given name.
[P2S]	Second Principal, Possessive name.
[PAR2]	Second Principal's Parents names.

[A]	Age of the current principal in years.
[AE]	Exact age (years, months, and days) of current principal.
[AO]	Age of the other principal in years.
[AOE]	Exact age of the other principal.
[A1]	Age of the first principal in years.
[A1E]	Exact age of first principal.
[A2]	Age of the second principal in years.
[A2E]	Exact age of second principal.

[D]	Date information.
[DD]	Date information including the day of the week, otherwise the same as the above variable

[FATH]	Father of the current principal.

[L]	Place data (all fields, separated by commas).
[LA] or [ADDRESSEE]	Addressee data.
[LD] or [DETAIL]	Detail data.
[LCI] or [CITY]	City data.
[LCN] or [COUNTY]	County data.
[LS] or [STATE]	State data.
[LCR] or [COUNTRY]	Country data.
[LZ] or [ZIP]	Postal Code data
[LP] or [PHONE]	Telephone data
[LL] or [LATLONG]	Latitude - Longitude data

[M]	Text entered in the Memo field (with no delimiters).
[M1]	Same as above.
[M1]...[M9]	Subfields of the Memo field separated by the "\|\|" delimiter(s) (two vertical bars/lines).
<[M0]>	Special variable to print an empty Memo field (forces a Memo field to not print).

[MOTH]	Mother of the current principal.

[N]	Current Name of the current principal (the name in the current tag).

[W]	Current Witness.
[WO]	Other Witnesses -- separated by commas.

The following variables may be used in Tag or Witness Sentences as well as in the Tag Memo field. It is recommended that they not be used at the end of a Sentence or at the end of a Memo field ending a sentence.

Variable	Meaning
[:CR:]	Inserts a carriage return (new line) at the specified location. Use to provide special paragraphing in the Memo field and in reports.
[:TAB:]	Inserts a TAB character (or equivalent number of spaces, according to TABS= in TMG.INI) at the specified location.

The following variables may be used in Tag or Witness Sentences for use with Roles. For illustration purposes below, the Role is Minister is used.

Variable	Meaning
[R:(Rolename)]	Full name of the person in the minister role -- e.g., [R:Minister]
[RG:(Rolename)]	Given name of the person in the minister role -- e.g., [RG:Minister]
[RF:(Rolename)]	First name of the person in the minister role -- e.g., [RF:Minister]
[RP:(Rolename)]	First person pronoun (He or She) of the person in the minister role -- e.g., [RP:Minister]
[RS:(Rolename)]	Possessive pronoun (his or her) of the person in the minister role -- e.g., [RS:Minister]
[RM:(Rolename)]	Third person pronoun (him or her) of the person in the minister role -- e.g., [RM:Minister]
[RA:(Rolename)]	Age of the person in the minister role -- e.g., [RA:Minister]
[RE:(Rolename)]	Exact age of the person in the minister role -- e.g., [RE:Minister]
