John Glasscock was born on 14 January 1698/99 at Richmond County, Virginia.1,2,3 He received a land grant in 1728 at Fauquier County, Virginia, for 900 acres.4 He married Margaret O'Rear, daughter of John O'Rea and Mary Peck, in 1728 at Virginia.1,5 John Glasscock and Margaret O'Rear with Mary Peck and William Thorn sold 100 acres of land in Stafford County (and held in trust for Margaret) to Cornelius McCarty in 1733 at King George County, Virginia. John Glasscock was vast his vote in 1741 at Prince William County, Virginia. He appeared on the tax list at Fauquier County, Virginia, in 1759 of Thomas Marshall.4 He appeared on the Rent Rolls of Lord Fairfax for 900 acres in 1770 at Fauquier County, Virginia.4 He and Margaret O'Rear sold land (about 112 acres) on Hungar Run to the vestry of Leeds Parish in 1773 at Fauquier County, Virginia.4 John Glasscock and Margaret O'Rear sold land to William Berry (633 acres) on Bull Run Mountain and a branch of Fornication Run in 1773 at Fauquier County, Virginia.4 John Glasscock witnessed the death of Margaret O'Rear between 1773 and 1780 at Virginia.
