     James Richard Gunter married Mary Elizabeth O'Rear, daughter of Elijah O'Rear and Sarah Melissa Feltman, in 1882.¹ Rhoda Palentine O'Rear was never married. Family stories indicate that Rhoda's children were fathered by James Richard Gunter, the husband of her sister, Mary Elizabeth. This is supported by the fact that Lillie Lorene's daughter obtained a copy of her (the daughter's) birth certificate when she was a young woman and the name on the certificate for her mother was Lillie Gunter rather than Lillie O'Rear although she had only known her as O'Rear. Lillie's daughter never remembered her grandmother, Rhoda, as being married and did not recall her grand aunt, Mary Elizabeth, as married (indicating James Richard Gunter probably died before about 1920). Supposedly, since Rhoda was younger than her sister, Mary Elizabeth, their father would not let Rhoda marry James R. Gunter. So he married Mary Elizabeth to be close to Rhoda.² James Richard Gunter died circa 1920.²

     Rufas Allen O'Rear was also known as Richard.² He was born on 29 January 1869 at Jasper, Alabama.¹ He was enumerated with Elijah O'Rear in 1870 on the Census at Walker County, Alabama.² Rufas Allen O'Rear appeared on the census of 1910 at Jasper, Alabama.³ He was enumerated with Charles Walker O'Rear in 1920 on the Census at Jasper, Alabama.⁴ Rufas Allen O'Rear died on 8 September 1923 at Birmingham, Alabama, at age 54.^1,5 He was buried after 8 September 1923 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Jasper, Alabama.⁶

     Joseph Lee O'Rear was a carpenter and a school teacher.¹ He was born on 5 November 1873 at Jasper, Alabama.¹ He married Lula Ada Ballard on 25 December 1897 at Nettleton, Mississippi.^1,2 Joseph Lee O'Rear appeared on the census of 1910 at Jasper, Alabama.³ He died on 28 December 1915 at Jasper, Alabama, at age 42.¹ He was buried after 28 December 1915 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Jasper, Alabama.²

     Charles Walker O'Rear was a barber at Jasper, Alabama.¹ He was also known as Charley Walker.² He was born on 19 November 1875 at Jasper, Alabama.² He married Kathleen Trotter in 1899.² Charles Walker O'Rear appeared on the census of 1910 at Jasper, Alabama.³ He appeared on the census of 1920 at Jasper, Alabama.⁴ He died on 19 January 1939 at Jasper, Alabama, at age 63.^2,5 He was buried after 19 January 1939 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Jasper, Alabama.¹

     Kathleen Trotter was also known as Stella.¹ She was also known as Manila Katherine.² She was born on 16 September 1880 at Alabama.¹ She married Charles Walker O'Rear, son of Elijah O'Rear and Sarah Melissa Feltman, in 1899.² Kathleen Trotter was enumerated with Charles Walker O'Rear in 1910 on the Census at Jasper, Alabama.³ Kathleen Trotter was enumerated with Charles Walker O'Rear in 1920 on the Census at Jasper, Alabama.⁴ Kathleen Trotter died on 21 February 1961 at Jasper, Alabama, at age 80 due to pneumonia.¹ She was buried after 21 February 1961 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Jasper, Alabama.¹

     Thaddeus Koscusko Beal was a merchant, a lawyer and a real estate dealer.¹ He died at Maryville, Missouri.¹ He was born on 25 December 1825 at Berry, Missouri.¹ He married Laura Ann O'Rear, daughter of William Clinkscales O'Rear and Mary Angeline Wilcox, on 8 April 1866 at Maryville, Missouri.¹ Thaddeus Koscusko Beal appeared on the census of 1870 at Maryville, Missouri.²

     Sims Kelly O'Rear married Frances Dempsey.¹ Sims Kelly O'Rear witnessed the anecdote of Henry Hunt O'Rear; Henry Hunt O'Rear had accumlated a lot of property in East Chattanooga, TN. After he retired Henry's son begged his father to loan him money so he could build up another area of Chattanooga. Henry very reluctantly loaned the money but insisted that his son must repay the bank note promptly since he had put his property up as collateral. The son did not pay and Henry didn't have the money to pay. The bank took Henry's property and auctioned it. The son purchased the property by auction and left his father destitute. Grandpa Henry and Grandma Sallie were reduced to living in a boxcar because they couldn't afford a house or rent. Henry's brother, Sims Kelly O'Rear was quite wealthy. Upon learning of the son's deceit, Sims Kelly removed not only the guilty son but all of Henry's children from his will. Sims Kelly O'Rear was born on 25 November 1846 at Winchester, Tennessee.¹ He was enumerated with Benjamin Starky O'Rear in 1850 on the Census at Franklin County, Tennessee.² Sims Kelly O'Rear married Alice E. Martin, Justice of the Peace.^7,6 Elisha M.
